So cringey Christmas dinner with all my mates aside, what else could possibly be done to get yourself into the Christmassy mood then? Of course...the annual Lucan Community College Christmas Choir Concert, every year we spend months preparing intensely for the Christmas concert where we sing traditional Christmas carols for an audience of people. So with all the prep done it was time for 2016's Concert. This year we were doing things a bit differently, instead of the Lucan Concert Band we used our new LCC Orchestra (a very small one I might add).
What a fantastic night it was, we had an absolutely huge turnout with the whole school hall packed together, we sang great and almost everything went smoothly (apart from one of our teachers nearly burning down the canteen while making mulled punch as we sang O'Holy Night).
What was particularly nice for me was my older cousins Jay – a past pupil of the school - came back to sing at the concert, so it was cool for the two of to stand side by side and perfrom infront of a crowd.
My favourite carol was Mary Had a Baby (and before you sing "Oh Lord" it is a completely different song...trust me!).
To our surprise when the concert ended we got a huge round of applause with absolutely outstanding feedback, it was nice to see that all our hard work had paid off.
The night was held in aid of St. Vincent De Paul Lucan, and we are happy to say that on that night alone we raised over €300 for the organisation.
