Well I can definitely say that this Christmas will be one I remember for a very long time! After asking for an Apple Watch, I opened my presents anxiously to see if I got what I wanted. The good news was I must've been good cos Santy was good to me! I was chuffed to find that I had in fact gotten the watch and I couldn't wait to try it, however...there was one more present in the pile. It was in the shape of a book. I opened it to find "Abracadabra Cello – A Beginners Guide to Learning the Cello", now for those who don’t know me, I have always been infatuated with the cello, it's one of my favorite classical instruments and ive always wanted to play it. Now seeing the book, I thought knowing my parents that they were just having a bit of banter so I laughed as I flicked through it. However, then my mam toldme to flick to the last page where a sticky note read "Look behind the couch". Now you might call me stupid but I hadn't noticed that the couch was about 20 inches further across the room than usual, and what was behind it only a real live cello! I actually couldn't believe it! So that was a major shock to the system.
After opening presents I headed up to my best mate's house to wish him, his mam and Granny of course a happy Christmas. To no surprise he had just gotten out of bed and hadn't even opened the presents yet.
We then headed to my Dad's side of the family in Whitehall where all the Bacon's congregate for a little morning celebration, as usual the house was buzzing when we went in, full of my mad family chatting away. After spending some time there we left my nanny's house and headed to my mam's side of the family in Lucan, when we arrived the house was packed despite the fact ¾ of the family had already left (but we were late whoops). After doing the rounds saying hi to everybody (which takes a while when you have considerably large family) I had a bowl of my nanny's famous Oxtail Christmas Soup which was as usualy to die for.
At about 6 o'clock we headed to my Aunts house where we had Christmas dinner for 10. As usual my mam and my aunty produced an unreal dinner which could feed an army of 40.
After playing a few rounds of Headbandz – the kid edition (yes the kids edition, which got very heated) we headed back around to my nanny's for the annual O'Doherty Music Sesh, where basically we all sit around the table singing ballads and playing music till all hours.
After a great night's singing and playing, we headed home and I went to sleep at 4am!
