Today a few TYs from tourism got the chance to go to Glasnevin Cemetery to attend a course on Tour Guiding. We left first thing in the morning and spent half the day there. We basically learned about how to present yourself, tips on oration, and how to make your tour as engaging as possible.
After learning about all the tricks of the trade we got a tour of the cemetery so we could get an idea of what graves we might choose, because part of the programme is we have to research a grave and then present that grave to people as a tour guide in order to get your certificate. So we will be back in three weeks time to act as a tour guide and then one person from each group will be selected to represent the school in the finals.
