Ready or Not Tot Robot
As part of Health Ed. in school, one thing that's offered for TY's to do is the Ready or Not Tot Programme. Basically each person from the class gets a chance to experience a day with a baby (it's not real of course). So for some reason, I thought it would be a great idea to do. I can tell you now as I have the baby lying beside me, that was a big mistake. She has not stopped crying since I've gotten her. I'm an awfully busy person so I had to somehow find a way to play a Seachtain na Gaeilge trad concert and look after the baby at the same time.
Basically the Baby is programmed to cry in random intervals. It cries when it needs to be fed, burped, changed or when it needs attention. We are then given a set of keys, and we must try every key which inserts into the back of the baby, until we find the right one to make the baby stop crying. Update - Night: The baby drove me absolutely mad, i've decided i'm never having children! (Nah still want to but definitely not for a very long time) The baby cried 16 times throughout the night...16 times!. As the night went on my frustration slowly but surely grew and grew. The comments on the comment sheet that came with the baby got more passive aggressive with less "Ah i felt grand, it's a doss really" to "I just want the god dam baby to stop". Overall I highly advise nobody to do this because its a form of torture, however at the same time i think everyone should experience a day with it because it gives you a little insight into what a night with a newborn can be like.
